The best of the best ! Oct 30, 2007

This Grater is honestly the best of the best. Very rarely does one come across an item online that performs as it claims it's capable of. This item out performs what it claims. I have used this item for a solid week on everything from Lime and lemon peels to make Lemon Souffle, Lime Merengue and even to spice up my boring cheesecake with lime and almond zest. You will not find a flaw with this product. It's stainless and it feels solid. I cannot get over the quality and the Fit and Finish of this item. I had never known what I was missing in terms of flavor until I tried this zester. It really shines ! I have even begun to put Orange peal zest into teas to flavor once boring tea into a colorful and aromatic beverage. Please, if you're considering a less costly zester and are unsure, buy this one. I'm putting these in my culinary inclined family member's stockings for Christmas !

Perfect spice and cheese grater Aug 06, 2008
By KFR This is a perfect grater, several classes better than the one with the plastic handle (I had that first, but the handle couldn't bear the force and broke). This one has no such problems and the rubber anti-slip band helps a lot

Microplane Professional Patented Design Fine Spice Grater Dec 27, 2007

Our daughter is in a 4-year Culinary Management College and wanted a microplane as part of her Christmas gift. Once I began looking, the options were endless. I chose this particular item because of the width, the fact that it was all metal, and had a curve to the piece. Our daughter loves it, liked the size and said it will be perfect to add to her culinary equipment. Delivery was timely and packaging was excellent.

Greaat Grate (sorry but not verry) Dec 31, 2009

Glad I got the stainless pro series as a friend has one of the plastic handle ones and it is pretty much toast after 3 months of heavy use.
This is indeed a very fine grater and almost too fine for some things like chocolate. It makes a nearly powered chocolate that is great for decorating and making hand truffles but too fine for most things. Romano and Parmigiano are also very fine and not really suitable for antipasto or garnishes. But it does blend into sauces very quickly and is worth the extra effort for some at least. It is also the only grater I have tried that does Rachellte. Only useful for special purposes like zesting, but where it is suitable its the best way to go.
The Microplane Professional Patented Design Coarse Grater is more general purpose and better for most things.

The best of the best Jul 16, 2007
By Smart Shopper When my food processor quit working, I replaced it with a set of Microplane graters (the 35000 series). At the time I placed my order, I didn't know about Microplane's professional graters (the 38000 series). However, after using them, I was so impressed that I sent the 35000 series to my daughter and ordered the professional 38000 series for myself.
I do a lot of cooking, so I know these graters are going to get a lot of use. I'm in no mood to buy another food processor, as I rarely used the one I had and a food processor takes up a lot of valuable kitchen storage space. The Microplane graters, on the other hand, fit neatly inside a drawer and have protective covers on them.
I'm giving the 38000 series graters a 5-star rating because they're better quality than the 35000 series graters and look like they'll last longer. They are very sharp and do an extremely effective job. I especially appreciate the sliding hand guard. I very seriously doubt I'd use a tool as sharp as this without something to protect my hands.
