I couldn't tell from the photo, but the base is actually three parts that screw together. Only thing is, they don't screw together tightly, so the lamp leans quite a bit and doesn't stay straight. I would have returned it, but the styrofoam was in pieces and it was impossible to repackage. I'd like to try to super-glue the pieces in the base, but I'm afraid it'll stay in the leaning position.

I was looking for some inexpensive floor lamps since our new house did not have many built in fixtures. We have modern furniture - such as Room & Board, and this lamp looked like it'd fit right in. I did not have any of the problems with it leaning as one of the other reviewers noted. The fit and finish was generally pretty good for this price. Sure there are aspects that on close inspection could have been better but mostly I perceive this lamp from at least 3-4 feet away, and wouldn't be looking at the details of the construction of the bauble that holds the shade down, for example. I liked the pull string switches for the individual lights, they felt sturdy. The base is very solid and the lamp doesn't move when you switch it on and off. I am very happy with this item so far.

We were initially hesitant to buy this lamp due to the earlier review but decided to look for other reviews elsewhere and we found some good recent ones. We took a chance on one lamp first. It arrived quickly and it was well packaged. The pole that attaches the socket cluster to the base does come in 3 parts but they screwed together very well. The base is also very sturdy. The shade is quite wide lending a very modern feel. We loved the first lamp and went ahead and ordered a second. The lamps now stand beside our TV in the family room and they illuminate the room very well. Definitely a good buy!

I was a bit skeptical when I got the lamp as the packaging was quite cheap and I just got that vibe something was going to be off. Turns out the lamp looks great and provides plenty of light for my office with no ceiling fixture. During my search I had picked models several times the cost and glad I stumbled upon this as it fits the bill perfectly.

I ordered this floor lamp for our living room, which has no central lighting. The floor lamp does a great job in lighting up the room, especially since it can hold two light bulbs. The reason I am giving this lamp 3 out of 5 stars was how it was made. The lamp was pretty easy to assemble, except for screwing the pole together as some of the pieces were bent. Also, the top piece (to hold the shade in place) was too small to screw into the pole. If I would have known that this was poorly made, I would not have purchased it (even with the reasonable price).
